Leaders and Followers

Down the path I walk
Step by step
Sometimes following
And other times leading
Never doing just one
Because what if
By chance
I took a wrong turn
Went the wrong way
And what if
By going the wrong way
Something horrible happens
Whether to me
For following
Or to others
Because I led them
So when I'm lost
I follow behind
And learn the way
And when I know
The path we walk
I will step forward
And teach them the way
Because I know
I'm not always right
And I know
The same is true for others
Leaders may lead
Followers may follow
But the best thing to do
Is to do both
